ATTENTION to Veteran Teachers: Conditions to keep coverage as a Retired Employee:
a. Employees hired after January 1, 2011 would have to pay the following percent listed below of the total premium based on their years of service with the DeSoto Parish School System: Retiree Pays Board Pays 0 years but less than 10 years 80% 20% 10 years but less than 15 years 60% 40% 15 years but less than 20 years 40% 60% 20 years or more 15% 85%
b. Allow Spousal Coverage to continue as long as they had coverage with their spouse at least 8 years prior to retirement.
